How starting a league works

Reach out. Tell us your community, the sport you're excited about, and roughly how many kids you think you can reach.

We plan together. We help you pick a season, secure a venue, and set a schedule that fits the one-game-a-Sunday model.

We set up the platform. Registration, payments, insurance, refs, and marketing templates get configured for your league.

You launch. You lead locally — welcoming families and youth leaders — while we keep the back office running.

You grow. Add sports and seasons as your community grows, all under the same nonprofit umbrella.

Who starts a Sunday Funday league?

Parents tired of the travel-sports grind, coaches who want to give back, teachers and youth pastors, park districts, and civic-minded teens and young adults ready to lead.

You don't need to be a sports expert — if you care about kids and community, we provide the rest.

Built on a simple idea that worked

Sunday Funday Sports grew out of the "Go Long" legacy our founders lived themselves — the belief that kids deserve to show up, play hard, and head home smiling, without year-round practices or travel taking over family life.

That model became a youth-led nonprofit run by leaders like Program Director Nick Ockrim, coached by community volunteers, and kept safe by trained refs.

Now we help other communities start the same thing.

Starting a League — Common Questions

Sunday Funday Sports helps community leaders launch low-commitment youth sports leagues — one game every Sunday, no weekday practices.

As a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Westmont, Illinois, we provide the full operating platform: nonprofit status, insurance, online registration, referee hiring and payroll, marketing, and ready-to-run program playbooks.

You bring local passion and players; we handle the hard parts.

You bring the passion.

We bring the platform.

Together, we make youth sports fun again.
