Youth Sports Leagues in Darien, Illinois

Sunday Funday Sports runs one-game-a-week youth sports leagues right here in Darien, Illinois.

Most games are played at Hinsdale South High School at 7401 Clarendon Hills Road — kids play one organized game every Sunday, with no weekday practices and no travel schedule.

Leagues include NFL Flag Football, WIFFLE® Ball, NHL Street Floor Hockey, and Young3 3-on-3 Basketball, run by a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

If your family lives in Darien, you're at the center of everything we do. Our home field is Hinsdale South High School — for most Darien families, that's a five-to-ten-minute drive. Show up Sunday, play one hour, and head home with the whole day still ahead of you.

We built Sunday Funday Sports for families who want their kids playing organized sports with friends without surrendering the family calendar. One game a week is the whole commitment. No practices on school nights, no tournaments two counties away, no gear bag taking over the trunk.

What Darien kids can play

Through the year, the seasons rotate so there's always something coming up. NFL Flag Football runs in the fall on the Hinsdale South practice field, with co-ed divisions for grades K–2, 3–5, and 6–8. WIFFLE® Ball takes over the Hinsdale South Field House in winter — same grade divisions, classic yellow bat, no gloves needed. NHL Street Floor Hockey arrives in spring at Downers Grove South High School, about ten minutes up the road. And Young3 3-on-3 Basketball gives kids in grades 3–5 and 6–8 fast games with more touches than a full-court league. Current season dates, pricing, and registration are on each league page.

Who runs it

Sunday Funday Sports is a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Games are officiated by paid, trained teen referees — many of them Hinsdale South students — and coached by community volunteers. High-schoolers from Darien can also join us on the other side of the whistle: reffing is a paid Sunday job with real leadership training.

  • Most leagues play at Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road, Darien. Floor hockey plays at Downers Grove South High School, about ten minutes away. Every league page lists its exact venue and current dates.

  • Not at all. Families come from Darien, Downers Grove, Westmont, Willowbrook, Clarendon Hills, and all over DuPage County. If Sunday works for your family, you're in the right place.

  • No — that's the whole point. Kids play one organized game every Sunday. Coaches run a short warm-up before each game, so there's nothing to schedule during the week.

  • NFL Flag Football, WIFFLE® Ball, and NHL Street Floor Hockey offer divisions for grades K–2, 3–5, and 6–8. Young3 3-on-3 Basketball offers grades 3–5 and 6–8. All teams are co-ed and beginners are always welcome.

  • Pick your league, choose your child's grade division, and register online. You'll get a parent email with the schedule and pickup details, then just show up Sunday.
