Youth Sports Leagues in Downers Grove, Illinois
Sunday Funday Sports brings one-game-a-week youth sports to Downers Grove families.
NHL Street Floor Hockey plays right in town at Downers Grove South High School, and NFL Flag Football, WIFFLE® Ball, and Young3 3-on-3 Basketball play a short drive away at Hinsdale South High School in Darien.
Kids play one organized game every Sunday — no weekday practices, no travel schedule — through a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Floor hockey's home is Downers Grove
Every spring, NHL Street Floor Hockey takes over Downers Grove South High School at 1436 Norfolk Street. Pop-up rinks, safe plastic sticks, soft pucks, and quick shifts that keep every kid in the action — if your family lives in Downers Grove, the season's biggest venue is in your backyard. The rest of the year, the fun is ten to fifteen minutes south at Hinsdale South High School in Darien: NFL Flag Football in the fall, WIFFLE® Ball in the winter Field House, and Young3 3-on-3 Basketball.
What Downers Grove kids can play
Through the year, the seasons rotate so there's always something coming up. NFL Flag Football runs in the fall on the Hinsdale South practice field, with co-ed divisions for grades K–2, 3–5, and 6–8. WIFFLE® Ball takes over the Hinsdale South Field House in winter — same grade divisions, classic yellow bat, no gloves needed. NHL Street Floor Hockey arrives in spring at Downers Grove South High School, about ten minutes up the road. And Young3 3-on-3 Basketball gives kids in grades 3–5 and 6–8 fast games with more touches than a full-court league. Current season dates, pricing, and registration are on each league page.
Who runs it
Sunday Funday Sports is a youth-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Games are officiated by paid, trained teen referees — many of them Hinsdale South students — and coached by community volunteers. Downers Grove high-schoolers can join us on the other side of the whistle too — reffing is a paid Sunday job with real leadership training.

Not at all. Families come from Darien, Downers Grove, Westmont, Willowbrook, Clarendon Hills, and all over DuPage County. If Sunday works for your family, you're in the right placeNo — families join from Downers Grove, Darien, Westmont, Woodridge, and across DuPage County. Any kid who can make it on Sunday is welcome.

No — that's the whole point. Kids play one organized game every Sunday. Coaches run a short warm-up before each game, so there's nothing to schedule during the week.

NFL Flag Football, WIFFLE® Ball, and NHL Street Floor Hockey offer divisions for grades K–2, 3–5, and 6–8. Young3 3-on-3 Basketball offers grades 3–5 and 6–8. All teams are co-ed and beginners are always welcome.

Pick your league, choose your child's grade division, and register online. You'll get a parent email with the schedule and pickup details, then just show up Sunday.
